25 Defending men’s champion Mohamed Elshorbagy and Nour El Sherbini recorded an historic Egyptian double at the 2016 Allam British Open with contrasting victories over compatriots Ramy Ashour and Nouran Gohar respectively at the Airco Arena in Hull. The championships were noteworthy for being the first time in the tournament's 93-year history that Egypt had provided all four finalists and for El Sherbini becoming the first female Egyptian to lift the coveted title
 
Manchester To Host 2017 Men's & Women's World Championships
27 The Professional Squash Association have announced that the 2017 PSA Men's and Women's World Championships will be held side by side in Manchester from the 9th to 17th December, when record equal prize money will be on offer across both draws. For the first time ever the prize purse for the pinnacle event on both the Men's and Women's Tours will be equal, with the winners set to take home over $45,000 each
