Rajiv Ouseph Wins French International Title

Commonwealth Games silver medallist Rajiv Ouseph landed the men's singles title at the French International in Orleans.

The six-times English National champion defeated Denmark's Flemming Quach 21-15 21-15, leading all the way in the first game and recovering from 6-3 down in the second to ease away to a 32nd-minute victory.

Ouseph only came under pressure late in the second game when Quach recovered to within at 14-13 having trailed 13-9. But Ouseph reasserted himself to ease to victory.

Marcus Ellis and Alyssa Lim fell one win short of lifting the mixed doubles title.

They went down 21-17 21-17 to Scotland's Robert Blair and Imogen Bankier. The England pair had led 16-14 in the first game before a five-point surge helped Blair and Bankier to take the opener on the way to controlling the second game.
