Wilson Swiss Open Super Series 2010
Jin Chen defeated Chinese compatriot Chen Long 12-21 21-15 21-17 in the final of the Men’s Singles to claim his second Swiss Open title.

The 2007 winner overcame a brave challenge from Chen Long after the former junior world champion had secured the opening game with a succession of fearless attacking kills from the baseline. However, Jin Chen eventually seized the initiative, with his greater experience and patience proving decisive as he levelled the match and eventually secured a deserved three game victory.

The Women’s Singles and Women’s Doubles were also dominated by the Chinese. Shixian Wang defeating the higher ranked Yanjiao Jiang 21-15 21-19 to claim the Women’s Singles whilst Tian Qing and Yu Yang defeated Japanese opponents Miyuki Maeda and Satoko Suetsana 21-16 21-13 in a thrilling one hour spectacle marked by long rallies and subtle tactics.

Chinese dominance was broken in the Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles with both titles being won by Korean’s Sung Yeon Seong and Hyun Koo Ko and Lee Yong Dae and Lee Hyun Young respectively.

Despite being unseeded and facing the tournament favourites, Sung Yeon Seong and Hyun Koo Ko successfully defended their Men’s Doubles title, defeating the Malaysian pairing of Kean Keet Koo and Tan Boon Heong 21-18 21-16 in just forty minutes.

In the Mixed Doubles, Lee Yong Dae and Lee Hyun Young recorded an impressive 21-14 21-18 victory over fellow Koreans Shin Baek Cheol and Yoo Hyun Young. In a match notable for its high tempo and long rallies, the eventual victors played with greater confidence from the outset and provided few opportunities for their unseeded opponents, except for a brief lapse at the beginning of the second game, when trailing 9-16, they reeled-off seven successive points before closing out the match.
