SQUASH I Gregory Gaultier & Nick Matthew Head Stellar AJ Bell British Squash Grand Prix Line-up
internationalSPORTgroup is delighted to announce that World Champions Gregory Gaultier and Nick Matthew will head a stellar line-up at this year’s AJ Bell British Squash Grand Prix which include a total of six national number ones.

2015 World Champion Gaultier and three-time World Champion Matthew are seeded to renew their career-long standing rivalry in a title showdown having contested some of the biggest matches of recent years, including two World Championship finals.

Keen to make their mark at the championship, being staged at the National Squash Centre in Manchester from 2nd to 5th December, will be Australian No.1 Cameron Pilley, the 33-year-old 2016 World Series Finals runner-up, Malaysian No.1 Nafiizwan Adnan, Scottish No.1 Alan Clyne, Hong Kong No.1 Max Lee, and Welsh National Champion Joel Makin who will be making his debut at the event after having received the wildcard following a succession of fine recent performances on the PSA World Tour.

Mathieu Castagnet will also return to Manchester with genuine title aspirations. The popular Frenchman reached the final two years ago after claiming the biggest win of his career with a sensational quarter-final victory over World No.1 Mohamed ElShorbagy.

Three-time title holder Matthew who defeated Castagnet in the 2014 final, will lead the charge of home-based players, which includes former World No.1 James Willstrop, Daryl Selby, Chris Simpson and Tom Richards, with the four remaining main draw places to be earned via an equally competitive qualification.

Manchester, the UK’s squash capital, will once again host the AJ Bell British Squash Grand Prix through a pioneering partnership with internationalSPORTgroup™ and AJ Bell, one of the UK's largest providers of low-cost, online investment platforms and stockbroker services based in the city.

“We are obviously thrilled that this year’s AJ Bell British Squash Grand Prix has attracted such a strong field and particularly pleased to see such a strong international representation alongside a competitive British contingent which will no doubt enthral squash fans from day one,” said internationalSPORTgroup Chief Executive Officer Paul Walters.

“We are very appreciative of the support of Manchester City Council and AJ Bell, as well as the PSA and our other event partners, and we hope that this year’s AJ Bell British Grand Prix will once again bring together a lot of our shared philosophy.

“The National Squash Centre remains one of the finest purpose-built squash facilities in the world and we look forward to welcoming the world’s best players back to Manchester,” added the tournament promoter ahead of what promises to be one of the most eagerly contested championships of the new season.
